Sample Instructions

With years of experience as a teacher, I have learned a thing or two about giving instruction. Mostly because I have discovered that the clearer instructions you provide, the fewer times you must repeat yourself.

Take the test! See if you can follow these instructions to draw a combination of shapes that represent a symbol from my favorite YA novel series.

Materials:

• Writing utensil
• Piece of paper to write on

Instructions:

1. Draw an equilateral triangle, one where all sides are the same length, in the center or the paper.
2. Inside of the triangle, draw a circle. Make sure that circle is fills as much of the triangle as possible without going outside of the triangle. 
3. Place your pencil at the top point of the triangle and draw a straight line down, through the center of the triangle and circle. Stop when you arrive at the bottom of the triangle.
